Verdant echo

Stefania Maroudi

74.00

Ceramic sculpture inspired by the fragile transformation of coral reefs. Its form evokes part of a coral colony, somewhere between a marine organism and a small organic tree. Made from white stoneware clay and fired twice, the glaze contains copper, creating natural variations of green, ochre, and dark tones. These shifting surfaces echo the visual traces of coral bleaching, when rising ocean temperatures cause corals to lose their symbiotic algae.

The piece embraces a wabi-sabi aesthetic, celebrating irregularity, natural change, and the quiet beauty found in imperfection.
