“HIPPARION” ~ A gentle creature. One of a kind hand-painted art work characterised by geometric lines and shapes. One of the three main tile compositions from “The Skyrian” summer collection. A play of solids and textures. Stoneware tiles (13cm x 13cm) high fired three times at 1220°.
Inspiration is found in one of the possible historic origins of the Skyrian horse.
Some believe that during old times there was a horse in Attica that had the height of a goat, which was called hipparion. This species is now extinct and some people believe that the Skyrian horse is the last representation of that species.
A tile composition by Myrsini Alexandridi in collaboration with Hyle. The composition is available to purchase as a whole, or in parts of 3 or 6 tiles. Shop online and in store.
